Even though we still have 4 days of production left that includes scenes from various points of the film, it really feels like we're in the denouement (a fancy narrative term for the resolution of a story following the climax) of our production journey due to the fact that we wrapped our biggest set pieces this past week. From this point on our locations are more mild, our scenes have less action, and supporting cast will start to be wrapped.
We already got a taste of the production coming to an end as we said goodbye to one of our supporting cast members on Thursday and one of our crew members on Saturday. A production coming to an end is a bittersweet time as you've spent a lot of time and become fast friends with the cast and crew only to say goodbye and possibly never see them again (that is, until the premiere, 😁).
Scenes left to film include interactions between our villain characters and Dot's secret agent father (some of the funniest scenes in the film thanks to the pitch perfect casting), and then all of the scenes that take place at the Conner home (a location we'll see for the first time in the film after spending the series only in Dot's bedroom as she recorded her vlogs).
One quick note about the production schedule: Day 15 will be tomorrow (Monday, July 29th) and then we will be on a 6 day break for key talent to honor prior commitments before they return to wrap up production August 6-8. We won't necessarily be taking a break from the diary during that time, but posts may not be daily.
Finally, since we've reached this point in the production and because we're so excited about how the film is turning out, we wanted to share a sneak peek with you all of some of the shots we've been getting so far (color grade not final; please do not share any of these stills publicly):
Y'all... this little film is going to be SO GOOD. And we're not just saying that because we're biased. 😂
